Chungers Kim  -   Biography 

Baritone Chungers Kim has been an active musician in Chicago and the Twin Cities in Minnesota for several years. He was a section leader in the Minnesota Chorale, the principal chorus for the Minnesota Orchestra, with whom he performed Brahms’s German Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier, and more. Kim also sang the roles of Tarquinius in The Rape of Lucretia and Count Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro with opera workshops in colleges and community groups. After he moved to Chicago to pursue his master’s degree in vocal performance, Kim received accolades for his recent performance as the Watchman in Nielsen’s Maskarade with VOX 3 Collective and Don Alfonso in Mozart's Cosi fan Tutte with The Floating Opera Project in its inaugural performance. He is a well-established church musician who has served as music director and organist with several congregations in both the Twin Cities and Chicago area. Kim finished his bachelor’s degree at University of Wisconsin – River Falls, where he studied voice with Dr. J.W. Park and organ with Dr. Laura Edman.
